The Challenge

When Sihala PVT Ltd approached us with an urgent request for their new food brand, they had a bold vision but a very tight timeline. They wanted a brand identity that represents authentic Sri Lankan flavors, including a logo and 60 product labels, all to be completed in just 4 days. Their sketch already had emotional value, so our challenge was to refine it into a professional design while maintaining the soul of Sri Lankan culture. From typography to symbolism, every detail needed to connect with the Sinhala-speaking audience and reflect local authenticity. This is where our expertise in Curry Sri Lanka branding came into play.

The Approach

Our first step was the logo design. We refined the initial concept into a symbol that merged tradition with modern appeal. The logo features the Sinhala word “කරි” (Curry) shaped like a spoon, symbolizing the essence of food and flavor. Above it, the outline of Sri Lanka’s map was seamlessly integrated, making the brand unmistakably local. We also added the tagline “Made in Sri Lanka”, emphasizing authenticity and trust.

Next came the packaging design process. With 60 product labels to create, organization was crucial. We developed a color-coded system to make products easy to identify on supermarket shelves:

  • Purple for Brine Items

  • Yellow for Chutney Paste

  • Black for Chutney Sambal

  • Blue for Pre-cooked Curry Range

  • Orange for Spice Mixes

  • Green for Pickles

Each label was designed with food illustrations and vibrant visuals, ensuring consistency across the range while appealing to both modern consumers and traditional Sri Lankan households.

To support search engine visibility, all product images were optimized with alt text containing “Curry Sri Lanka branding”, ensuring better discoverability online.

The Outcome

Despite the tight deadline, we successfully delivered a cohesive brand identity within 4 days. The final logo and labels not only uplifted the client’s sketch but also gave the brand a professional, shelf-ready look. Today, Curry Sri Lanka products proudly appear in supermarkets and local stores across the country, instantly recognizable thanks to their strong branding.
